Thank you for your registration!
We are really excited and look forward to your participation. We also encourage you to bring family and friends interested in this noble cause.
As a reminder, here are the Walkathon details:
Sunday, May 31st with check-in at 6.30 am.
Venue: SpiderLogic India, 3rd Main, 38th Cross, Jayanagar 8th Block (Near HDFC Bank/Jayanagar Metro Station).
Map to the venue : https://goo.gl/maps/ToLZ4
Please note – On demand, we’ve added a 2km mini-walkathon for those coming with children or elders.
Here are some guidelines for the walk:
Care for the environment
BYOB – Marathons and walkathons generate huge amounts of trash in the form of disposable bottles that find their way to landfills and oceans. We encourage you to bring your own bottles. Limited bottles are however available for “pay as you please”.
Be Responsible with Trash – If you need to dispose bottles or food items during the walk, please do so in dustbins. Alternatively, our volunteers will be happy to collect it from you en route (limited capacity). Throwing garbage/trash/empty bottles on roads is a strict No!
Car pool – Enough said? With no private parking for the event, we encourage you to not only bring family, neighbors and friends, but also plan a car pool to the venue.
Be safe
Walk on the footpaths – Most of the route has footpaths, so please consciously walk on them.
Walk facing the traffic – Your safety is your responsibility. While most of the route is on footpaths, it may be inevitable to step on the road. When you do so, walk facing the traffic so you can step away from danger – walk on the right side of the road!
Cross the road only at designated areas – Our volunteers are available at busy junctions that require crossing. Please keep an eye for them. Seek their help to cross the road.
Children and elderly to your right – While the identified route has fairly wide footpaths take precautions – keep children and elderly to your right, away from the traffic.
Car park
Care for our neighbors – We don’t have parking for the event. Parking is on the road. Please follow traffic rules and remain conscious of homeowners needs to easily access their properties.
Other little things
Footwear, caps, umbrellas – It’s almost the start of monsoons, so do bring an umbrella, or a cap to protect yourself from the sun. Quite obviously, choose footwear that’s comfortable and accommodates your walking preferences.
And the most important detail!
It is YOUR walk. YOU are walking for a cause. Enjoy it, share your joy and feel proud about your participation!
